WTEN: Zags Take 5-2 Victory Over Eastern Washington

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's tennis opened the 2021 season with a 5-2 victory over visiting Eastern Washington Sunday afternoon inside the Stevens Center.
The Eagles picked up the doubles point after defeated the Zags 6-3 at No. 1 followed by a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles. Haruna Tsuruta and Hannah Jones claimed the lone doubles victory at No. 3, defeating EWU's Louise Waite and Renata Gabuzyan 6-4.
In singles play, the Zags nearly swept Eastern Washington, claiming victories at No. 1-5 to take the match 5-2.
The Zags return to play Sunday, Jan. 24 in a rescheduled match with Montana at 10:30 a.m. inside the Stevens Center. Check GoZags.com for up-to-date match time information.
