Duong in second place at four-under
GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The Gonzaga women's golf team is tied for first place after the first round at the Bobcat Spring Invitational at the Golf Club of Estrella hosted by Montana State University.
The Bulldogs' Quynn Duong is in second place after shooting a four-under (68) on the day. The junior leads the team, and is tied for best in the tournament in birdies made with six. Duong is tied for second in average Par-4 scoring with a 3.80 (-2), as well as tied for second in average Par-5 scoring with a 4.50 (-2).
Jessica Mangrobang, Cassie Kim, and Federica Torre are all tied for 11th place after carding a 73 (+1) in the first round. Mangrobang leads the tournament in average Par-5 scoring with a three-under (4.25) performance.
Mary Scott Wolfe is tied for 19th at two-over (74). The freshman leads the Zags and the tournament in pars made with 16.
As a squad, the Bulldogs are one-under (287), tied with California Baptist, heading into the second day. Individually, Sofia Chabon of CBU is in first, one stroke ahead of Duong, with a 67 (-5).
