WTEN: Zags Swept by Washington at Home

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's tennis team fell 4-0 to visiting Washington Wednesday afternoon inside the Stevens Center.
The Huskies took an early lead, defeating Hannah Jones and Adrianna Sosnowska 6-2 on court 1. On court 3, Cate Broerman and Kianna Oda battled but ultimately fell 6-3 to Tara Chilton and Nika Zupanic. On court 2, Kate Ketels and Haruna Tsuruta were up 5-4 but went unfinished since Washington had already claimed the doubles point.
Ketels was first to finish for the Bulldogs on court 1, falling 6-2, 6-0 against the Huskies' Vanessa Wong. Court 4 was next to finish when Zupancic defeated Tsuruta 6-3, 6-1. The match ended in a loss on court 6 from Jenna Sloan who was swept 6-0 in the first set and fell 7-6 (7-4) in a tie break to give Washington its fourth and final point of the match.
