
Duong Moves to Second at WCC Championships

Zags in second entering Saturday’s final round
HENDERSON, Nev. — Gonzaga's Quynn Duong climbed to second place following Round 2 at the 2021 West Coast Conference Women's Golf Championships. The Zags are also in second entering Saturday's final round at the Reflection Bay Golf Club.
Duong carded a 70 (-2) in the second round, the lowest-round in the 25-golfer field Friday. Her round included five birdies and 11 pars. She moved from third to second on the leaderboard and is two-under (142). Duong has the lowest average on the course's Par-5 holes at 4.38 (-5) in the tournament.
Cassie Kim remained in a tie for fourth at two-over (146). She made 14 pars and two birdies in Round 2. The sophomore had her second straight round of 73 (+1) in the championships.
Mary Scott Wolfe made four birdies Friday, finishing the round at one-over (73). She is tied for ninth at five-over (149). She is tied for the best average on Par-3 holes at 2.88 (-1).
Jessica Mangrobang is in 15th at eight-over (152). She had her second straight round of 76 (+4). Her 26 pars match the most in the tournament. Frederica Torre is 15-over (159) in 23rd place.
The Bulldogs were four-over (292) as a team in the second round. GU leads the event at five-over on Par-3 holes (3.13).
BYU remains in first at eight-over (584). The Cougars were three-over (291) in Round 2. BYU's Allysha Mae Mateo stayed on top of the leaderboard at three-under (141). She was one-under (71) on the second day.
