CORVALLIS, Ore. – Gonzaga men's golfer
Zach Stocker played a consistent 54 holes at the Oregon State Invitational and tied for sixth at Trysting Tree Golf Course Tuesday.
Stocker opened the tournament with a 72 (+1), before carding a 70 (-1) in the second round and finishing with a 71 (E) in the final round. The senior was even-par (213) in the event. His third round featured four birdies and 10 pars. He was even-par on the course's Par-4 holes and three-under on the Par-5 holes over the three rounds. After second round play was suspended Monday due to darkness, Stocker finished his second round on Day 2 with three birdies and 12 pars.
Gonzaga tied for ninth as a team at 31-over (883). The Bulldogs had a team total of 300 (+16) in the third round.
Jace Minni was three-over (74) in Round 3, finishing in a tie for 44
th at 10-over (223). He made two birdies and 12 pars in the final round. Minni carded a 70 (-1) in the second round with seven birdies.
Ethan Flynn and
Guillermo Polo Bodart both tied for 51
st at 12-over (225).
Clayton Thatcher tied for 81
st (+23, 236).
Utah's Javier Barcos held off Oregon State's Mateo Fuenmayor for medalist honors. Barcos was four-under (209) in the tournament, while Fuenmayor was three-under (210).
Kansas State was the lone team under-par in the event at three-under (849) to take the team title. Washington State was second at 11-over (863).
