
Men's XC Places 26th at Nuttycombe

MADISON, Wis. — Gonzaga men's cross country finished 26th in a Nuttycombe Invitational that included 19 of the nation's Top 30 teams on Friday morning, with a 32nd-place finish from Wil Smith leading the way in the men's Championship 8K.
Led by first- and third-place individual finishes, No. 2 Stanford knocked off No. 1 BYU for first place in the team standings, which included eight of the nation's Top 10 teams.
Behind Smith's 23:37.1 time , Cullen McEachern (156th, 24:26.4), Bryce Cerkowniak (158th, 24:27.1), Dominic Arce (160th, 24:27.7), Riley Moore (188th, 24:44.9), Jackson Lyne (210th, 25:00.3), Nicky DiMartino (222nd, 25:16.1) and Yacine Guermali (227th, 25:26.7) rounded out the rest of GU's point-getters. In the Men's "B" 8K, Cooper Laird's 25:16.9 time got him 81st overall, followed by Ansel Tucker (107th, 25:42.8).
