Duong in a tie for 16th
EWA BEACH, Haw. – The Gonzaga women's golf team is through two rounds of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Hoakalei Country Club. The tournament is being hosted by the University of Hawaii.
Gonzaga is in tenth place heading into the final round on Tuesday at 64-over (640). The Bulldogs combined to shoot 28-over (316) in Round 1 and 36-over (324) in Round 2. GU combined for 100 holes of par or better scores.
Quynn Duong is in a tie for 16th after the first two rounds at seven-over (151). She shot three-over (75) in her opening round, making 11 pars and three birdies along the way. In the afternoon round, Duong shot four-over (76) and brought her par total up to 25, the third-most among the individual golfers.
Cassie Kim matched Duong with 25 pars of her own on the day. She shot five-over (77) and nine-over (81) on the day and is in a tie for 46th at 14-over par (158). Chaewon Baek is also in a tie for 46th at 14-over (158) after shooting nine-over (81) and five-over (77) in Rounds 1 and 2, respectively.
Alyssa Nguyen is in 49th place after combining to shoot 16-over (160) in her first two rounds. Kaysa Panke (+21, 165) is in a tie for 52nd, and Mary Scott Wolfe (+38, 182) is in 57th heading into the final round.
California Baptist's Jocelyn Chee Yi Min sits atop the individual leaderboard at two-under (142), holding a one-stroke lead over Hawaii's Hyeonji Kang (-1, 143). On the team leaderboard, Hawaii leads with a combined score of 14-over (590), one stroke ahead of Sacramento State (+15, 591).
