SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga men's rowing team competed against Washington State University today and won all three races to retain the Fawley Cup. The race took place on Silver Lake as the Zags hosted its last rowing event of the season.
"It was good racing today, windy but good," head coach
Dan Gehn said. "All three boats did what they needed to do after a tough logistical week. We look forward to the next three weeks to prepare for racing at the WIRA in Sacramento."
In the 1V8 race, the No. 25 Bulldogs finished first with a time of 6:02.32 with WSU finishing in 6:03.39. In the JV8 competition, GU finished in 6:19.10 to place first. The Cougs came in second in 6:27.30. The 3V8 boat also took first with a finishing time of 6:49.20 as Washington State finished in 6:57.6.
Up Next: Gonzaga competes in the WIRA Championships in California on April 29 - May 1.
