Lauren Towne captured University Credit Union WCC Defensive Player of the Week honors after keeping No. 15 Santa Clara off the board in the win over the Broncos.

Lauren Towne made six saves to claim the Bulldogs' seventh shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over No. 15 Santa Clara. In front of a nationally televised audience on ESPNU, the Zags beat SCU for only the second time in program history to stay atop the WCC with two games left in the regular season. This is Towne's second weekly award this season, and the fifth overall for the Zags.
