SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's golf head coach
Brad Rickel announced the signing of Jasmine Wong to National Letters of Intent Wednesday.
"We are very excited for Jasmine Wong to join as our 2024 signee," Rickel said. "She will make a great Zag as she arrives to us as a both an accomplished golfer and student. We have had several Hawaiians over the years on our team and are looking forward to the Aloha spirit she will bring. On her recruiting visit she immediately saw what a special place Gonzaga is: how both the athletic department and our program strive to balance athletics, academics, and a responsibility to be of service in the community.
"She is passionate about tournament golf and her spirit will make a great addition to our group. We believe she will make an immediate impact in our lineup and in our team dynamic and we look forward to watching her grow and mature in her time here at Gonzaga."
Wong was the 2023 HSJGA Kauai Junior Champion and Maui Junior Champion. She was also the HSJGA State Junior Open Champion and won the Eddie Hamada Award. Wong qualified for the 2024 USGA Women's Four-ball and Notah Begay III National Championship. The two-time qualifier for the IMG Junior Championship, was the California Junior Golf Tour Player of the Year in 2018 and the Michelle Wie Tournament of Champions Winner in 2019.
Wong, a senior at 'Iolani School, was the 2023 ILH Champion and was named ILH First Team from 2020 to 2023. She had a 74.42 scoring average as a junior, 75.9 scoring average as a sophomore, and a 76.25 scoring average as a freshman.
Off the course, Wong boasts a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and has been named to the honor roll four times. She was named to the Headmasters List three times and is a three-time Acolyte Service winner. Wong would like to major in Business Administration at Gonzaga.
