PROVO, Utah – Gonzaga men's golf placed 12th in the Ping Cougar Classic at the Riverside Country Club Saturday.
Leading the Bulldogs, Ethan Flynn tied for 26th place at four-under (213). He carded a 68 (-4), 70 (-2), and 74 (+2) across his three rounds. Flynn made 33 pars and 13 birdies throughout the tournament. On the course's Par-4 holes, he was four-under (3.87).
As a team, the Zags finished the tournament in 12th place at one-over (865). Their first round of the tournament was their best, combining for a 278. Gonzaga totaled 173 pars and 43 birdies by their five golfers.
Jace Minni tied for 36th place at one-under (215) Minni made 39 pars in the tournament, which was second most among all golfers in the field.
Zach Stocker wasn't far behind, finishing with 37 pars. He tied for 53
rd place at three-over (219). Brentt Salas tied for 71
st at seven-over (223) and Grant Johnson tied for 88th at 13-over (229).
Boise State's Max Charles took home medalist honors at 19-under (197). BYU won the team title at 40-under (824), holding off Utah Valley at 32-under (832).
Gonzaga is at the West Coast Conference Championships at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash., from April 27-29.
