BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Gonzaga women's golf team capped a strong fall campaign with a fourth-place finish at The Clash at Boulder Creek, hosted by Northern Arizona at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The Bulldogs posted rounds of 287, 293, and 290 for a 54-hole total of 870 (+6).
Gonzaga's balanced lineup produced three golfers inside the top 30, with an individual in red figures. The Zags' opening 287 marked one of their lowest team rounds of the season and helped them secure their third straight top five team finish this fall.
Grace Lee led the Bulldogs with a steady even-par 216, firing a 2-under 70 in the second round to finish as Gonzaga's top individual.
Mariko Yonemura was two strokes back at 218 (+2) after opening with a 68 (-4), her sixth career round in the 60s.
Esther Yoo closed with an even-par 72 to finish at 220 (+4), while
Brenna Preap surged in the final round with a 71 (-1) to card 222 (+6).
Michelle Mogi rounded out the team scoring at 223 (+7). Playing as an individual,
Taylor Mularski finished at 219 (+3) after a final-round 70 (-2).
Hosts Northern Arizona placed first at 24-under (840), while New Mexico State was second at 20-under (844). NMSU's Emma Bunch and Amelia Garibaldi of Fresno State tied for first at 11-under (205).
The Bulldogs' performance at Boulder Creek concludes a productive fall schedule that featured top five finishes in all three events, highlighted by a team title earlier this month at the SeattleU Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational.
Gonzaga opens the spring schedule Feb. 9, at the Mountain Classic Matchplay event. The three-day tournament, hosted by Wyoming, will take place at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif., and will feature live scoring on GoZags.com.
