SPOKANE, Wash- Gonzaga Track started their first meet in Spokane of the year with a great result, breaking a program record and picking up two wins.
Greta Dani broke the GU record for the fastest 200 meters in indoor track, running a 25.2 time. Dani followed up her record by running the second fastest 400 meters in program history, running time of 58 seconds flat to take second place overall.
Hayden Roberts took home a victory in the 800 meters, holding off Washington State's Ferran Verges down the back stretch to take home a wire-to-wire victory. Roberts ran a 1:53.40 race, good for third in program history in that distance in indoor track. Charlie Goss also ran a huge PR to take third place, coming in with a 1:55.69 time.
Anna Grabowski secured a win for the Zags in the 3000 meters, setting the sixth fastest program time in the distance with a 9:28.46 race. She cut nearly 13 seconds off of her previous fastest time. Zags swept the top 5 places in the race, with Nina Yeats and Ava Sutherland rounding out the podium with times of 9:41.9 and 9:45.8.
The Zags will look to continue their success at The Podium when they return for their first meet after winter break, running at the Spokane Sports Showcase on January 16th.
