SPOKANE, Wash. -- Back in the Stevens Center from being out on the road, the women's tennis team claimed the victory against Utah State 4-2.
The Zags found success in doubles, with the powerful duo of
Diana Yanotovskaya and
Elizabeth Tindera taking the first double set 6-2. Freshman
Sveva Zerpelloni and Senior
Rose Hayes swept through to take the win in doubles for Gonzaga, 6-4 against Utah State's Olivia Halvorsen and Magdalena Nunez Pureco. Â
As for singles,
Emily Robertson had an outstanding performance, taking another victory point for the Zags, 6-3 and 6-2. More from singles highlights, Sveva Zerpollini played against Utah State's Chahd Tourkhani to win both sets 6-3 and 6-4.
Elizabeth Tindera defeated Maria Ramos Garcia in a remarkable three-set match, 6-7, 6-1, and 6-4.
The Gonzaga women's team will be back tomorrow, February 15th, at the Stevens Center to take on New Mexico. The match starts at 9 a.m.
