THE OPENING TIP
- Gonzaga visits Oregon State in Gill Coliseum Saturday at 3 p.m. It's the 30th all-time meeting between the Pacific Northwest programs separated by 437 miles. Last year's matchups were the first since 1991.

- GU has clinched its 29th straight 20-win season, which ranks second for the longest active run in the nation.
- Gonzaga is three wins from the program's 19th straight 25-win season, extending its own NCAA Div. 1 record. The Zags have reached the 25-win plateau in 21 of the last 22 seasons, and 25 of the last 27.

Braeden Smith is 14 points from being the sixth player on the roster to reach 1,000 points in a career.
- The Bulldogs' 31 kill shots, which are 10-0 scoring runs, are the most in the country. According to Evan Miyakawa, Gonzaga's four runs of 20+ and nine runs of 15+ this season are the most in the nation.
- The Zags currently lead the WCC in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.80, 10th in NCAA), assists (18.5, 13th), bench points (37.2, 4th), effective field goal percentage (.564), fast-break points (15.33), field goal percentage (51.0, 12th), field goal percentage defense (39.6, 21st), defensive rebounds per game (29.0, 9th), rebounds (41.8, 10th), scoring margin (20.5, 7th), scoring offense (87.8, 15th), turnover margin (4.7, 8th), and turnovers (10.3). GU tops the nation in points in the paint averaging 47.1 per game.
- Ike is 10th in the nation, and first in the WCC, with 12 double-doubles this season.
Braeden Smith tops the WCC, and is 25th in the nation, with a 3.19 assist-to-turnover ratio.
- Ike is first in the nation among active scorers in NCAA Div. 1 with 2,338 points, Indiana's Tucker DeVries is second at 2,301. Ike's 1,067 rebounds also ranks second among active players. He is the only active player with 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career. Ike was named preseason All-American by CBS Sports.
- Seven different Zags have led the team in scoring in a game this season. Six GU players have scored at least
20 points in a game, and 11 have reached double-digit scoring.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
- Oregon State won its third straight game, beating Washington State Wednesday, 74-64. The Beavers rallied from a 17-point second-half deficit. Josiah Lake II scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half to lead OSU. Johan Munch scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Olavi Suutela added 10 points. The Beavers held Washington State to 6-of-23 shooting in the second half, including 3-for-20 over the final 17 minutes. OSU committed only five turnovers, all in the first half.
- Prior to the win over Washington State, the Beavers rallied for an overtime victory at San Diego last Saturday. Oregon State trailed 59-49 with 1:45 remaining in regulation, before rallying for the 78-76 win.
- Lake II averages a team-high 13.5 points per game, with a team-high 95 assists and 38 steals. Dez White and Isaiah Sy both average 9.6 points. White has made a team-best 54 three-pointers at 37.5 percent.
- Munch averages a team-high five rebounds per outing.

- This is the 30th all-time meeting between Gonzaga and Oregon State. The Beavers own a 26-3 advantage in the series. After not meeting since 1991, the Pacific Northwest programs separated by 437 miles played twice last season.
- In the latest matchup, Gonzaga cruised to a 98-60 win in Spokane on Jan. 28.
Khalif Battle scored 19 of his game-high 23 points in the first half to lead the Bulldogs.
Graham Ike added 22 points and was 10-of-12 from the field. The Zags finished 55 percent from the field, including 9-of-17 from behind-the-arc. GU was also 23-for-27 from the free-throw line. The Bulldogs outscored Oregon State 48-15 in bench points, 40-28 in the paint, and 22-7 in second chance points. Gonzaga turned 13 OSU turnovers into 23-4 points off turnovers advantage.
- Last season in Corvallis on Jan. 16, OSU held off No. 16 Gonzaga in overtime, 97-89. Ike had 26 points and nine rebounds to lead five Zags in double-digits.
- The schools first met on Feb. 20, 1911, a 13-11 Bulldog win in Spokane.
- Prior GU's win last season, Oregon State had won the previous 13 matchups, dating back to a 27-24 GU victory in 1932.
- The Beavers have won eight of the nine all-time meetings in Spokane, and all 14 in Corvallis.

Graham Ike was named one of the 10 candidates for the 2026 Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Thursday.
- Named after Class of 2010 Hall of Famer and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Karl Malone, the annual honor in its 10th year recognizes the top power forwards in Division I men's college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates in November, which has now been narrowed to 10.
- The top 10 list includes Koa Peat (Arizona), Cameron Boozer (Duke), Joshua Jefferson (Iowa State), Malik Reneau (Miami), Yaxel Lendeborg (Michigan), Caleb Wilson (North Carolina), Trey Kaufman-Renn (Purdue), JT Toppin (Texas Tech), and Alex Karaban (UConn).
