The Gonzaga women's team opened play in Charleston where the Bulldogs turned in an impressive performance, defeating Samford in a 4-0 victory.
The bulldogs started with an early control in doubles, with
Emily Robertson and Ella Nielson defeating Samford's Lea Erenda and Grace Keller, 6-2.
Elizabeth Tindera and
Diana Yanotovskaya also kept the energy going in doubles, with a 7-5 victory for the Bulldogs.
With the early control in doubles, that flow of momentum was brought into singles action. Senior
Rose Hayes was matched against Samford's Eleni Liakonis in a two-set victory for the Zags, 6-0 and 6-4.
Emily Robertson also kept her momentum from doubles rolling with a win against Lea Erenda, 6-1 and 6-4.
Brooke Bittner brought the fire to the courts with an outstanding 6-1 and 6-0 takeover over Samford Bulldogs Grace Keller.
The Bulldogs will finish their trek in Charleston this Friday, March 13th where they will play College of Charleston, the matchup will begin at 1:30pm.
