Women's Tennis Defeats Charleston, 4-2

The Zags return home on Saturday

Gonzaga women's tennis team opened play on their last match in Charleston, where they defeated the College of Charleston 4-2. 

Back in doubles is Elizabeth Tindera and Diana Yanotovskaya who fought hard in their doubles play but came up short 6-3. More from doubles is Zags duo Rose Hayes and Sveva Zerpollini who took on Sia Cariov and Saige Severance, with a defeat to Charleston 6-4.

However, Ella Nielsen and Emily Robertson swept through on court two to take their victory in doubles, 6-3. 

The Zags brought the momentum in singles with Emily Robertson taking the first Zag point in just two sets, 6-0 and 6-3. Rose Hayes followed that energy taking both sets against Harper Santos, 6-2 and 6-1. On Court Six, Zags Brooke Bittner claimed yet another victory point for the bulldogs,  7-5 and 6-1. 

Sveva Zerpelloni took the last Zags point to defeat Charleston. Zerpelloni went into three sets against her opponent Riley Trinkle, 6-3,  5-7 and 6-4. 

The Zags will be playing their next match at home on March 21st at 11am, where they will take on Loyola Marymount.
