Women's Tennis Falls to Saint Mary's, 4-2

The Zags hit the road next weekend

Gonzaga women's tennis team opened play this Sunday March 29th taking on the Saint Mary Gaels, and fell 4-2.

Zags started off doubles with great momentum, duo Diana Yanotovskaya and Elizabeth Tindera took their set 6-4. Rose Hayes and Sveva Zerpelloni came through and took the doubles point in a 7-5 victory.

As for singles, Brooke Bittner kept the spark going for the Bulldogs stepping onto court six, taking another victory 6-2 and 6-1. Emily Robertson kept up with her opponent but fell short 6-2 and 7-6. 

Ella Nielsen also had a competitive match up against the Gaels that carried into three sets, Nielsen lost the first one 3-6, before gaining control in the second one 6-3, however she came up short in the last set 6-2.

Rose Hayes battled it out on court three against Saint Mary's leading with a defeat 7-5 and 6-3. Bulldogs Elizabeth Tindera played against Gaels Madison Weekley coming up short 7-6 in a tiebreaker and 6-3 in the second set. 

The women's tennis team will be back to travel down to Pullman where they will play against the Cougars, that match up will be Saturday April 4th at 11am.
