SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Gonzaga Bulldogs men's rowing delivered a close race at home, taking on Santa Clara Broncos men's rowing at Silver Lake at the Johnson Family Boathouse.

"It was good racing today by all boats," head coach Dan Gehn said. "The race of the day was the V8 with multiple leads changes and a close finish of two feet." 

In a tightly contested 1V8 race, Santa Clara edged Gonzaga by the narrowest of margins, finishing in 5:44.4 just ahead of the Bulldogs' 5:44.8. The Broncos also claimed the 2V8, posting a time of 5:56.16 while Gonzaga crossed in 6:00.06.

Santa Clara continued its momentum in the 3V8, winning in 6:05.7, followed by Gonzaga in 6:10.2. Gonzaga rounded out the day with its 4V8 boat, finishing in 6:26.7.
