The Gonzaga men's rowing team returns to the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships (WIRAs) this weekend, marking its first appearance at the regatta since 2022. The Bulldogs will take on a competitive West Coast field, featuring both familiar opponents and new crews as the postseason begins to take shape.
"We are excited to return to WIRA for the first time since 2022. It will be great to race crews we have already seen this season and some new crews as well!" said assistant coach Kayla Cartelli.
Gonzaga opens competition Saturday morning with three entries, highlighted by the Varsity 8+ in Race #2 at 8:10 a.m. The Zags will also field two Second Varsity 8+ boats, racing in back-to-back events with the B boat at 8:50 a.m. (Race #6) followed by the A boat at 9:00 a.m. (Race #7).
