DES MOINES, Iowa.- Gonzaga Track concluded the Drake Relays with another program record on Saturday, the new GU record set this weekend in Des Moines.
The women's Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team broke the previous school record by over thirteen seconds, running a new program best time of 11:07.97. The team of
Anna Grabowski,
Greta Dani,
Ashlinn Aguayo, and
Logan Hofstee ran respective legs of 3:24.42 (1200 meters), 55.25 (400 meters), 2:08.17 (800 meter), and 4:40.14 (1600 meters) to set the new high mark while taking third place.
The men's DMR team came within half a second of setting another program record, running a team time of 9:45.14.
Ryan Mitchell,
Charlie Goss,
Hayden Roberts, and
Logan Schwartz combined with times of 2:59.68, 49.81, 1:52.76, and 4:02.91 to finish in fifth in the relay.
The men's relay team previously set a record yesterday with a new top time in the 4x1600 meters, with
Mason Kissell, Roberts, Mitchell and Schwartz running a total team time of 16:39.84.
Greta Dani also set a new record in the 400 meters yesterday, running another sub 56 second 400 when she clocked an official time of 55.99.
Anna Grabowski took the win in the collegiate 5000 meters on Thursday, winning with a time of 16:33.98.
