Lee Defends Washington Women’s Amateur Title

Event was June 16-18 in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Recent Gonzaga women's golf graduate Grace Lee successfully defended her Washington Women's Amateur title, shooting rounds of 69-71-69 to win the 33rd Washington Women's Amateur Championship at Walla Walla Country Club.

Lee, a Bellevue, Wash., native, finished the 54-hole championship at 7-under par and completed her title defense after winning the 2025 championship. The event was conducted June 16-18 and featured the top women's amateur players from Washington and Northern Idaho.

Lee entered the final round with a five-shot lead and continued the strong play that had defined her week. She carded three birdies through her first seven holes before facing a bogey and double bogey, her first double bogey of the championship. Lee regrouped on the back nine and closed in impressive fashion, using a strong approach on No. 16 to spark three straight birdies to finish her round.

"I didn't really have any expectations going into the championship," said Lee, who recently completed her senior season at Gonzaga. "I just wanted to go out there, have fun and enjoy it. With that being my main goal, there was nothing to lose."

With the victory, Lee earned an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Women's Amateur, scheduled for Aug. 4-9 at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn. It will mark her fourth appearance in the national championship.

"I'd say every year I feel like I gain more experience," Lee said. "There's a lot of really good competition out there."

Lee was named the WA Golf Women's Player of the Year in 2025.
