Gonzaga Adds French Guard Juwan Ekanga-Ehawa

Standout averaged 19.1 points for JL Bourg’s U-21 team

SPOKANE, Wash. – Juwan Ekanga-Ehawa, a rising prospect from France, signed a financial aid agreement to attend Gonzaga University and will join the men's basketball team for the 2026-27 season.
 
Ekanga-Ehawa, a 6-6 guard from France, brings international experience from his time with JL Bourg, one of France's top professional clubs.
 
During the 2025-26 season with JL Bourg's U-21 team, Ekanga-Ehawa averaged 19.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game. He shot 52 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from three-point range.
 
Ekanga-Ehawa also appeared with JL Bourg's senior team and spent time with Chorale Roanne in France's second division. He was named the Most Improved Player in the Espoirs ELITE league and was selected to participate in the French Young Star Game.
 
A product of France's youth basketball system, Ekanga-Ehawa has also gained experience with France's national 3x3 youth teams. He helped France earn a silver medal at the U-17 European Youth Olympic Festival in Skopje, North Macedonia.
