2021-22 (Redshirt Senior): Ruel had one of his best appearances this past season at the HBU Husky Invitational finishing in three rounds with a +5. Ruel’s lowest round out of the 20 rounds this season was a 71 which he shot twice at the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic and the Loyola Intercollegiate. This season, Ruel’s average score came down to a solid 74.50. His career average with Gonzaga places him at the No. 5 spot with a 74.41 career best average score … named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar ... Academic All-Conference First Team.

RS SENIOR (2020-21): Played in six tournaments for a total of 17 rounds… tied for ninth at the season-opening Nick Watney Invitational … Had a 74.47 stroke average on the year… Had the team season high low round (-5) in the second round of the Nick Watney Invitational.

RS JUNIOR (2019-20): Appeared in five tournaments…72.43 scoring average…14 rounds played… tied for fourth at The Joust at four-over (214) ... finished six-under at the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic, tied for 25^th… season-low round of 67 … four top-30 finishes … tied for 21st at the Nick Watney Invitational at three-under (120), after three straight rounds of 70.

RS SOPHOMORE (2018-19): Appeared in six tournaments…75.22 scoring average…18 rounds played…finished five-under at the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic, tied for 24th…low round of 68 during the tournament…three top-30 finishes ... Honorable Mention Academic All-Conference.

RS FRESHMAN (2017-18): Appeared in three events for the Zags...played nine rounds and shot under par in two of them...recorded a team-best, and matched the program-best, low round of 65 in the second round of the Loyola Intercollegiate.

Ruel joins Gonzaga as a redshirt freshman in 2017-18, after transferring from the University of Mississippi. He redshirted last season at Ole Miss, and will be immediately eligible for the Zags. During his freshman season at Mississippi he boasted a 3.53 GPA in the school of business, making the Dean's Honor Roll.

Prior to going to Oxford, Miss., Ruel enjoyed a stellar career at Jesuit High School in Tampa, Fla. At JHS, he was named the Hillsborough County Player of the Year after being the runner-up at the 2015 Class AA Florida High School State Championship. Ruel was tabbed First Team All-Hillsborough County following his junior and sophomore seasons.

Ruel earned medalist honors at the 2015 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship Qualifier, and would go on to finish 24th in stroke play. He also won the 2012 Kids Golf Teen World Championship.

In 2015, Ruel was the Future Masters Champion, carding three straight rounds of 67. He went three-over and tied for 15^th the following year at the event in Dothan, Ala.

Ruel excelled in Florida Junior Tour play as well. He tied for fourth at West Orange (72-72) and Viera East (71-72), before tying for sixth at the 2015 FJT Tour Championship (70-75). He tied for 12^th at the Florida Boys Junior Amateur Championship (71-72-76) in 2015, and 20^th in 2014 (71-69-75).
