Gonzaga’s commitment to academic excellence extends far beyond the academic honors a student-athlete can earn from our University or the West Coast Conference. We strive to achieve success on the national level through our various academic accomplishments, such as the prestigious CoSIDA Academic All-American distinction. The Academic All-American team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognizing an elite group of scholar student-athletes each year. The program, founded in 1952, recognizes thousands of student-athletes across DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA levels for their impressive academic accolades, while also being a strong contributor in the athletic realm. To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his/her career, and achieve at least sophomore athletic standing and completed one full academic year at the nominating institution. |
