Jack will be going into his fifth season as a volunteer assistant with Gonzaga and his tenth year in the program. Jack grew up in Brier, Washington and began running cross country at 9 years old in 2005 for Rain City Flyers in Seattle. Immediately, he fell in love with running! He went on to attend Mountlake Terrace High School before beginning his collegiate career at Gonzaga in 2014.Â
Â
After having a promising start at Gonzaga, Pearce suffered a cardiac arrest in the summer of 2016 but was rescued by his mom performing life-saving CPR. After that, Jack continued to stay active and eventually returned to training but faced significant challenges regaining his prior form. However, during this difficult time for Jack his teammates, coaches and the entire athletic department continued to show immense support for him.Â
Â
Jack graduated in 2018 with a degree in Nursing and now works at a local hospital, but the experiences from his time at Gonzaga had a profound effect on him. Jack's purpose for coaching is to elevate and support every single individual through the medium of running into all aspects of life.Â
