Prior to Gonzaga
- Paul comes from the wildcat country of Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, Washington. There he qualified for the cross-country state championships all three years. Junior year, Talens placed 17th with a time of 15:39 and made the all-state cross-country team. On the track, there is much untapped potential. Paul ran the 3-mile in 14:51, the mile in 4:28 and 2-mile in 9:32. Sophomore year he played soccer and his team made it to the state championships.
Personal
- Paul will be studying engineering management and hopefully obtain a minor in environmental studies. He is a first generation American from the Netherlands and speaks Dutch fluently at home. Talens thrives in the classroom, graduating as the NHS President and honors student. “I chose Gonzaga because of the community and the potential in the program. The academics and athletics are both incredible, especially with a phenomenal coach, and it seemed like the perfect fit.”
