Chris Bailey-Green was hired as an assistant coach for the women's rowing program in August of 2020. Bailey-Greene arrives at Gonzaga after spending the last two years as the first assistant coach for the Oregon State’s men’s rowing program.
 
In his first year with Oregon State, Bailey-Greene helped the Beavers to sweeps over Marist, Gonzaga, UCLA, Santa Clara and Hobart. OSU claimed a fourth-place finish at the Pac-12 Championships and earned a berth to the IRA National Championships in 2019. Bailey-Greene helped the Varsity 8+ finish 20th overall to go along with a 15th-place finish for the Second Varsity 8+ and a 14th-place finish for the Third Varsity 8+ respectively. They went on to place 17th overall nationally. The Beavers were poised for a record-breaking year in 2020 before the season was cancelled in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Prior to his time at Oregon State, Bailey-Greene worked as an assistant coach at both the New York Athletic Club and Yale University. At NYAC, Bailey-Greene helped to develop pre-elite athletes, training individuals to race against top-level competition. He helped coach the team to the 2018 Independence Day Regatta Men’s Team Trophy as well as the 2018 USRowing Club National Championship for the Intermediate 8+ and Intermediate 4+.

At Yale, Bailey-Greene had several responsibilities, including assisting with technique, race strategy, motivation, team camaraderie and developing training plans. During his time with the Bulldogs, Yale collected several victories, including the 2018 IRA Varsity 8+ National Championship.
 
Bailey-Greene also made coaching stops at Greenwich Crew, Manhasset Crew, Row-America Hamilton, and the Cincinnati Junior Rowing Club, the club he grew up rowing for.

Bailey-Greene rowed collegiately at Brown University for four years with the Bears’ Varsity 8+ crew. Every year of his collegiate career, the Brown Varsity 8+ was ranked in the top five nationally and contended for a national title. He helped the Bears to an Eastern Sprints Championship in 2005 and back-to-back Ivy League titles in 2007 and 2008. Bailey-Greene graduated from Brown with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, has two master’s degrees, and he is a Level III Certified USRowing coach.

Bailey-Greene lives in the South Hill neighborhood of Spokane with his wife Emma, their son Forrest, and the family dog Gus.
