Egan Berne joined the Gonzaga coaching staff in August 2019.
Berne is originally from Chicago, Ill., and was a recruited, four-year varsity rower at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She served as team captain her senior year and was a member of the Richard A Baddour Leadership Academy.
Berne graduated from UNC in 2017 with a degree in psychology and a minor in history. After graduation, Berne returned to Chicago to coach at her former high school, Loyola Academy. She served as the head novice women's coach in addition to the freshman girl's basketball coach.
Berne transitioned to collegiate coaching for the 2018-19 season, working as the assistant women's rowing coach at Colgate. She took over as the interim head coach in the spring of 2019.
