Sam Durocher joined Gonzaga women's rowing in Sept. 2026.
Durocher started her coaching career with Cornell Rowing Club in the fall of 2024 where she served as the head coach. There, she worked with rowers of all experience levels and assisted interested rowers walk-on to the varsity teams at Cornell. She helped foster a positive team environment focused on collaboration, discipline, and confidence.

During her initial season, Cornell Rowing Club earned their first medal at a registered regatta since the club’s formation in 2017 with a first place finish in the Men’s Novice/Frosh 4+ event at the Head of the Fish regatta in Saratoga Springs, New York. She also has experience leading Learn to Row programs and private lessons for rowers of all ages through Cascadilla Boat Club in Ithaca, New York.

She competed with Cornell University Women’s Rowing at the beginning of her freshman year and graduated from Cornell University in 2026 with a bachelor’s degree in Environment & Sustainability.

Durocher grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and attended City High/Middle School. She rowed for Grand Rapids Rowing Club and Forest Hills Central Crew throughout high school. Outside of rowing, she has done beekeeping for three years.
