Men's Tennis Swept By Lewis-Clark State 7-0

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team (3-14) suffered a 7-0 setback to the NAIA No. 17 ranked Lewis-Clark State College Warriors (13-7) Saturday afternoon at the Martin tennis courts.
The Warriors swept the doubles with the No. 1 team of Vinicius Vieira and Vanaka Gunawardhana defeating Shaun Whitney and Brian McConnell 8-4.
In singles action the Bulldogs challenged the No. 1 spot when Whitney forced a tie breaker, winning the first set 4-6 before Vieira pulled out the last two sets 6-3, 6-3.
McConnell also rallied back from a first set loss 6-0 to win the second set 5-7 before falling to Gunawardhana 6-0 in the final set.
The Bulldogs now have a week to prepare before heading to the West Coast Conference Championships Friday in Moraga, Calif.
