Women's Golf In The Hunt At Colby Invitational

CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. - Kelsey Posedel fired a first-round 72 on Monday afternoon to stand tied for the lead at the Santa Clara Colby Invitational played at the Par 71 Rancho Canada Golf Course in Carmel Valley, Calif. Posedel is tied with Meggie Fagundes with both players holding a four stroke lead over Jennifer Dolph of Eastern Washington. The Gonzaga team followed suit as the Bulldogs finished with a team score of 315 to stand tied for third place two shots behind co-leaders Santa Clara and Eastern Washington. Gonzaga is tied with Sacramento State at 315 in the 11 school field.

Carrie DeGree shot the second best round of the day for Gonzaga as she finished tied for 12th with a round of 80. Erin Picht finished one shot back at 81 and Kate Siddell rounded out the Gonzaga scoring with a 82. Cathy Knutson was the final Gonzaga golfer in at 53.
