Gonzaga University senior Adam Syverson put together the best 54 holes of the season for the Bulldogs, firing a final-round 2-under-par 70 for a 54-hole score of 213 to finish second in the Bulldog Fall Invitational on Tuesday.
Syverson finished two shots ahead of Greg Buckway of Weber State University and Zach Johnson of Southern Utah State University who had 215.
The University of Idaho's Bill Witte had a final-round 73 for a five-stroke victory at 208. He had a tournament-best opening round 65 on Monday.
Witte helped lead the Vandals to the team title with an 864 for a four-stroke victory over Weber State University at 868. Gonzaga finished third at 873, five shots better than Southern Utah.
Two other Bulldogs were in the top 10, Stu Bell and Matt Munroe in a six-way tie for 10th at 219. Bell had a final-round 3-under-par 69 while Munroe shot a third straight 73. Jimmy Hayes was tied for 17th with a 222 and Ryan Miller had a 224 to tie for 25th in the field of 67.
Gonzaga also had five golfers compete as individuals.
