Bulldogs Claim Victory Over Linfield College

LEWISTON, Idaho - The Gonzaga University women's tennis team won nearly every match against Linfield College on Saturday in a 6-1 victory. The victory improved the women's tennis record to 4-2 on the season.
Senior Jamie Buterbaugh led the way for the Bulldogs in the No. 1 singles spot with her win over Linfield's Nicole Ralston (6-2, 6-0). Angela Fry, Leigh Orne, Katie Sanders and Connie Head all won their individual singles matches as well for Gonzaga.
The Bulldogs swept the doubles round as Buterbaugh teamed up with Fry for an 8-1 win over Ralston and Kasey Kuenzli. Head and Sirrah Williams defeated Megan Rodgers/Becca Johnson (8-1) and Orne/Sanders defeated Asya Kamal/Lindsey Carlson (8-6).
The women go back on the road to neighbor Eastern Washington University to take on the Eagles on Friday, Feb. 20 at 4 p.m.
