Women's Tennis Grabs Win Over Eastern Washington

CHENEY, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's tennis team won their second meeting with Eastern Washington University this season as the Bulldogs defeated the Eagles, 5-2, on Friday afternoon. With the win, Gonzaga improved to 5-2 on the season and 2-0 against Eastern Washington.
Senior Jamie Buterbaugh led the singles lineup, winning in straight sets over Kimberly Cabiling. Buterbaugh was joined by Angela Fry, Sirrah Williams and Katie Sanders, all with victories for the Bulldogs.
Doubles play proved well for Gonzaga, with the tandem of Buterbaugh/Fry and Connie Head/Williams each claiming victories over their opponents.
The Bulldogs continue the Eastern Washington Invitational as they take on Weber State University on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 12:30 p.m. in Cheney, Wash.
