Women's Tennis Drops Match At Home

SPOKANE, Wash. - Sirrah Williams won the only singles point for the Gonzaga University women's basketball team as the University of Idaho defeated the Bulldogs, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Gonzaga drops to 7-9 in season play.
Katie Sanders and Florence Wasko teamed up to win a doubles set for the Bulldogs over Monica Martin and Mariel Tinnirello, 8-4, but the Vandals won the two-out-of-three matchup for the doubles point.
Williams claimed the only Gonzaga victory with her win over Tinnirello (6-4, 4-6, 6-2) in the No. 4 spot, while teammate Katie Sanders took her Idaho opponent, Kareen Konishi, to three sets (6-0, 4-6, 7-6), but couldn't hold on for the win at No. 5.
The women take some time off before traveling to West Coast Conference foe Santa Clara University on Thursday, March 25 at 11 a.m.
