Men's Golf Finishes Fifth At Spring Break Tournament

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Four Gonzaga men's golfers fired rounds in the 70's on Friday morning as the Bulldogs had a team round of 302 to finish solidly in fifth place at the Ft. Lauderdale Spring Break Classic.
Gonzaga closed the gap on fourth place Villanova University as Matt Munroe, Souta Nozaka. Ryan Fritz and John Bergren all shot rounds in the 70's for the Bulldogs. Munroe had the best performance with a round of 74. Nozaka and Fritz each shot 75 while Bergren rounded out the scoring at 78. Ryan Miller also played for Gonzaga shooting an 81.
Loyola College of Maryland won the team title with a two-round score of 577. Nova Southeastern University had a two-day total of 612 followed by Siena College, Villanova, Gonzaga and Loyola University in Chicago.
T.J. Shuart and Will Shriver, both of Loyola (Maryland), tied for individual honors at the tournament.
