Women's Soccer has Three Named All-West Region

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's soccer team had three players named All-West Region as released by Soccer Buzz Tuesday afternoon. Senior goalkeeper Ashley Haugen was selected first-team All-West Region, junior defender Beth Drollinger was selected third-team All-West Region and freshman defender Lori Conrad was selected to the All-West Region freshman team.
Haugen, who was also named first-team All-West Coast Conference earlier this season, received her first All-West Region selection of her four year career after capping off her record-setting season posting several Gonzaga single-season records including most shutouts with 11, fewest goals allowed with 15, two in WCC play, and goals against average of 0.72. Haugen completed her four-year career at Gonzaga as the career-leader in shutouts with 23, GAA of 1.36 and saves with 435.
Drollinger, who was named second-team All-WCC earlier this season, earns her first All-West Region selection of her career. Drollinger helped the Bulldogs defense bolster a single-season best team GAA of 1.40 and fewest goals allowed with 15. Drollinger also set a personal-best for single-season goals scored with three and assists with three for nine points.
Conrad, who not only earned a second-team All-WCC selection earlier this season, also became the second Gonzaga women's soccer player in the history of the program to be named to the All-WCC Freshman team, earns her first All-West Region selection. Conrad helped GU's defense post a single-season record for fewest goals allowed with 15, team GAA of 1.40 and registered one goal for two points.
These three players helped GU set several program records this season including a program-first national ranking, reaching as high as No. 18 in the final Soccer Buzz Top-30 poll, registered the most single-season wins with 12, most consecutive wins with seven and tying the most WCC wins with three. The Zags also made their inaugural appearance in the NCAA postseason after registering a third place finish in the WCC, also a program-best.
