Gonzaga Hires New Men's Tennis Coach

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University Athletic Director Mike Roth has announced the hiring of Peter MacDonald as the head men's tennis coach to begin in the 2005-06 season.
MacDonald joins the Gonzaga athletic department after four years as a Private Contractor for Pro Pete, Inc. in Portland, Ore. While working as a Private Contractor, MacDonald helped develop a high performance junior program and organized and ran high performance clinics for the Pacific Northwest's top tennis players. Through his work as a Private Contractor, MacDonald has helped coach several players to victory at several national open tournaments in both singles and doubles play. Prior to his work as a private contractor he was a Head Tennis Professional coaching in the city of Gresham, Ore. While serving as a Head Tennis Professional he coached various city, junior and adult leagues as well as various USTA programs. MacDonald has also served as the assistant women's tennis coach at the University of Portland from 1996-1998. While at Portland he helped with the technical and strategic development of the players.
MacDonald is a 1996 graduate of the University of Portland earning his bachelors of science degree in business management.
