Men's Tennis Loses WCC Opener

MORAGA, Calif. - Gonzaga University's men's tennis team dropped its first match of the West Coast Conference Championship 5-0 to top-seeded Pepperdine University on Friday at the Korth Tennis Complex on the Saint Mary's College campus.
The Waves, ranked second in the country, won four singles matches in straight sets and claimed the doubles point. Once the team outcome is determined other matches aren't finished. Thus, there were no results at No. 1 or No. 6 singles as well as third doubles.
The Bulldogs will face host Saint Mary's on Saturday at 9 a.m., the Gaels falling to the University of San Francisco 4-3 on Friday.
Gonzaga fell to 7-18 for the season while Pepperdine improved to 28-2.
