CHENEY, Wash. - Gonzaga University continued play at the GU/EWU Men's Tennis Fall Tournament Saturday. The doubles pairing of Roman Dojcak and Scott Sullivan led the way for the Zags, posting a second round 9-8 victory before dropping an 8-6 decision in the quarterfinal round later in the afternoon.
Two other Bulldog tandems also had their runs in Gonzaga's fall season-opening tournament come to close as and the parings of Conor Feeney/Levin Guillermo and Jake Davis/Zach Peach each dropped second round decisions.
In the singles brackets, the Zags had its three remaining players each fall in hard fought three-set matches. Sullivan lost his third round match to Lewis and Clark's Sam Tozer 4-6,6-3,10-7, Dojcak dropped his third round match to Eastern Washington's Julian Sanchez 6-2,5-7,6-2 and Guillermo suffered a 6-2,5-7,6-2 setback to Portland State's Alex Van Dersheldon.
Tournament play wraps up Sunday in Cheney.
