SEATTLE, Wash. - Conor Feeney highlighted an impressive first day at the PNW Intercollegiates for the Gonzaga University men's tennis team Friday. Play was held on the campus of the University of Washington.

The Zags lone newcomer this season Levin Guillermo continued to produce a solid fall season, recording another victory, beating Portland State's Alex Vanderschelden 6-4 6-3 in the first round. Guillermo later lost to UW's Derek Drabble in a tough second round draw.
In doubles play, Gonzaga had its young pairing of Jake Davis and Guillermo post an opening round win, beating Portland's Daniel Coelho and Geoff Hernandez 8-4 to advance to Saturday's second round of play.
Three Zags had their opening round matches go three sets but each came up short to drop into their respective consolation brackets which begin Saturday. Roman Dojcak battled tough in his opening round match but dropped a three set decision 6-3, 6-3, 6-4. Davis also forced his opening round match to go three sets but eventually suffered a 7-6, 1-6, 6-2 defeat and Scott Sullivan hung tough, taking his second set to force his match to go the distance before falling 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 to one of Idaho's top singles players.
Gonzaga continues play at the PNW Intercollegiates Saturday.
