Cheney Finishes Tied For 27th At Wyoming Cowboy Classic

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Derek Cheney shot a final-round 71 to move into a tie for 27th and Gonzaga University climbed four spots to 13th Tuesday during the final round of the University of Wyoming Cowboy Classic men's golf tournament at Talking Stick Golf Club.
Cheney, tied for 30th after Monday's 36 holes, finished at 214 to finish in a 6-way tie for 27th. Bowdy Ehler fired a final-round 69 over the 7,133-yard par 70 course for the Bulldogs lone sub-70 round of the tournament to tie for 44th at 217.
The Bulldogs finished at 871, three shots out of 11th. UC Davis captured the team title at 825 for a 16-stroke advantage over Oregon State University. UC Davis' Austin Graham captured medalist honors at 204 with rounds of 70-67-67.
The tournament was the final tune-up for the Bulldogs prior to the West Coast Conference Championship next week.
