Bulldogs Bounce Back With 6-1 Win Over Seattle

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team picked up its first victory of the season Friday evening, beating Seattle University 6-1 to improve its record to 1-1 on the young season.
After suffering a tough season-opening defeat to No. 26 University of Washington Thursday, the Zags bounced back in a big way, taking five of the six singles matches and both doubles matches.
Levin Guillermo and Kevin Eischen each recorded their first career victories for the Bulldogs. Guillermo got the Zags on track with a 6-2 6-2 win at No. 2 singles and senior Roman Dojcak followed with a very impressive 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles. Eischen then won at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-1 before the Zags two returning players that each recorded 10-win seasons last year in Scott Sullivan and Jake Davis each won their respective matches at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
The Bulldogs then took the first two doubles matches to earn the doubles point and give GU their first win of the season.
Gonzaga returns to action Jan. 31 hosting University of Idaho at the Spokane Racquet Club starting at 1:30 p.m.
