Chong Eliminated In Singles But Wins Doubles Title

BOISE, Idaho - Gonzaga University men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Boise State University Fall Classic Sunday.
After defeating Seattle University's Jordan Prince and David Kovas 8-3 in the Blue Flight Doubles consolation draw semifinals, juniors Zhia Hwa Chong and Scott Sullivan won the title by default.
The Bulldogs had two singles runs come to an end in the semifinals. Chong fell to the University of Idaho's Lachlan Reed 6-2, 6-0 in the Blue Flight Singles and freshman Pablo Mosquera Pérez dropped his match to Gino Octa of the University of Utah 6-0, 5-7, 10-2 in the Orange Flight Singles consolation draw.
The Bulldogs will head to Stanford, Calif., for the ITA Regionals Oct. 15-19.
