Sullivan, Chong Named Co-WCC Doubles Player of the Month

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University juniors Zhia Hwa Chong and Scott Sullivan were named Co-West Coast Conference men's tennis doubles Player of the Month for September, the conference announced Wednesday.
The duo shared the award with Pepperdine University's Hugh Clarke and Finn Tearney. In the season opener at the Gonzaga/Eastern Washington University Classic, Chong and Sullivan defeated the tournament's top seed Carl Kuschke and David Cysneiros of the University of Montana 8-2 to claim the doubles main draw title.
The duo advanced to the championship match after defeating the University of Portland's Michel Hukwo and Justin Guay 8-6 to advance to the championship match.
After taking a week off, the Bulldogs return to action this weekend at the Boise State University Fall Classic. The tournament begins Friday.
