Feeney and Sullivan Post Wins In Zags Loss To Montana

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to the University of Montana in Portland, Ore. Sunday afternoon. The Zags had Conor Feeney and Scott Sullivan each post victories in GU's third match of the weekend.
For the second consecutive day the Bulldogs (2-5) battled hard in doubles play. Sullivan and Roman Dojcak were able to post an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles but Montana was able to hold off GU in the remaining two doubles matches to claim the early one-point lead.
Feeney and Sullivan were able to give the Zags a little spark later in the match as Feeney cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles and Sullivan posted a win for the second straight day, winning 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 singles. Montana later won the four remaining singles matches to earn the win.
Gonzaga hosts the University of Northern Colorado at the Spokane Racquet Club next Sunday.
