Bulldogs Bounce Back With Dominating 6-1 Win

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Gonzaga University claimed a 6-1 non-conference victory over UC Santa Cruz Wednesday afternoon. The win wraps up the Zags spring break trip in the bay area of California.
The Bulldogs (8-4) swept all three doubles matches before taking all but one of the six singles matches. Rika Mehndiratta won at No. 1 singles while Kristina Zauere held off a late rally to post a 6-2, 7-6 win in her No. 2 singles match. Prue Teitzel cruised to a 6-0 6-2 win at No. 3 singles to continue to share the team-lead in wins (8) with Kristina Zauere. Clare Dodge won at No. 5 singles to earn her second victory in as many days while Jackie Tabb closed out the lineup with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
Gonzaga will have over a week off before heading to Portland, Ore. for matches against University of Portland Mar. 19 and Portland State University Mar. 20.
