Davis Posts Singles Win, Zags Drop WCC Match To LMU

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Jake Davis posted a singles victory for Gonzaga University who dropped a 6-1 decision in its West Coast Conference match at Loyola Marymount University Saturday afternoon.
Gonzaga (5-8, 0-2 WCC) were led by Davis who came from behind to post a three-set 1-6, 6-4, 10-5 victory at No. 5 singles. Kevin Eischen competed very well in his No. 6 singles spot, forcing the match to go three-sets before suffering a very tough 13-11 loss in the third set to also drop the match.
LMU swept all three of the doubles matches to claim the early point then won five singles matches to earn the conference win.
The Zags continue WCC play with a three-match road trip to California Apr. 2-4, facing University of San Francisco Apr. 2, Saint Mary's College Apr. 3 and Santa Clara University Apr. 4.
