Bulldogs Close Out Play At Cougar Classic

PULLMAN, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's tennis team concluded the Washington State University Cougar Classic Sunday.
In the First Round Consolation-Crimson singles bracket, redshirt sophomore Prue Teitzel fell to the University of Idaho's Barbara Maciocha 6-0, 6-2 but defeated Portland State University's Caitlin Stocking 6-1, 6-2. In the same bracket, junior Sophie Lantta lost to Idaho's Molly Knox 6-5, 6-0.
In the Second Round Consolation-Crimson bracket, Clare Dodge defeated the Vandals' Victoria Lozano 6-1, 6-1. Junior Kristina Zauere picked up a singles win in the Third Round Consolation-Crimson bracket. She defeated the Air Force Academy's Tahlia Smoke 5-7, 6-3, 10-2.
In the Gray bracket senior Jackie Tabb defeated Tara Vadali 7-5, 1-6, 10-0.
Next weekend the Bulldogs and Eastern Washington University will co-host the GU/EWU Fall Tournament held in Cheney, Wash. which begins Friday.
